Artsy Craftsy began in January 2010 and marked my 101st Post :) .. What started as a way to showcase a few crafts that I n my daughter enjoyed, has now turned into this immensely popular monthly artsy craftsy challenge. 100 & A happy new year!!

TADAAAAA! I’ve reached an interesting milestone – this is my 100th post on the blog. When I started the blog in July, I never expected to be able to post regularly. But 100 posts in 6 months.. yay!! I'm having fun!

There are some long pending tasks....Thank you lostworld, for passing along this lovely award

This new year, I have some interesting things planned - new crafts, an international contest and some giveaway handmade cards. I'm also looking forward to the blog meet happening at bangalore on 3rd jan :)

Merry christmas!!

Our latest obsession... paper model crafts.
We both made this lovely 3D card for Lil p's friend using navneet's paper craft book. What I love about this craft idea is that we did not need to use Glue or even a scissor!!! Its that easy to assemble. Do try out their other series too n let me know if you enjoyed it too.

My first-est-est-est award!!

MiM had her first-est est est contest on this blogosphere.. n I won!!! I had planned on making 2 lovely thank you cards (I knew the'd be lovely, cos i'd be making them. see? ) and sending them to Kamini and MiM.

Yesterday this package arrived by courier and hubby dearest opened it wondering who in the world was sending me such a heavy courier!! N look what I Won!!!

AR. Rahman's autobiography signed by the author Kamini Mathai herself!

In the mad rush that he n Lil p are always in.. he tore the outer covering which had kamini's addr n ph number!! Now I neither have the addr  (nor the cards!!) n I blame Hubby dearest entirely!!!

Ladies, if u'd both be kind enough to mail me ur address again, I'll get to making the cards :) n will mail it soon.. The next week I'm off from work, and we plan on creating some really crafty stuff..

Lil P's health is much better now. She still has to gain her strength though. Yesterday evening, she started wheezing with just a 10 feet dash in the park.

Over the next week, hopefully i'll get back to blogging more regularly.
For now, Thank you MiM and Kamini :) U made my day.

After 5 days of sickness, medicines and 3 courses of nebulization.. Lil p could finally get some sleep without having to cough every 2 seconds. Phew!
Things are looking better :) and my inlaws will be coming down for a week. What a relief! :)

All I do is crib these days..

Its getting tougher n tougher.. Nobody ever tells u that motherhood is a 24/7 job.. Ok everybody does.. I never understood!!!

Lil p has been falling sick over n over again.. every month its the same thing. Once its fever, once its cold+ cough .. once its worms.. allergies.. all in one repeat cycle! ..
Her eczema is getting worse.. allergies to soya, starch.. weather change.
Shes started wheezing now. there is construction going on in the next plot, its cold n damp in the nights.
She catches cold n cough very easily.. the day care n school are disease breeding grounds!
Its soo tough to see her suffer like this n not be able to help. I am thinking more and more about taking a break from work to be with her till her health stabilises..

At the office front too I am not doing too great.. Everything I do these days either gets misinterpreted.. or politicised .. or just goes plain wrong. Maybe its time I moved on.. maybe I shud stick to the job a tad bit longer.. maybe i should just be indifferent!

I'm not sure. I'm damn confused.. and scared... and guilty..
I know there are no clear cut answers out there. How do u know what is right?? ..

On a more cheerful note,  two of my fav cousins are going to be mothers soon.. I'm thrilled. Finally I get to baantofy my gyan to some1.. (if they listen that is!!) to A & M .. wishing u lots of love on this remarkable journey!!

Field trip to the icecream parlour!

The school circular read -
"We are planning a field trip for our students to baskin robbins, kormangala. te objective of the trip is to reinforce the concept - sense of touch and taste, about which they have learnt during the last month"
What a cool idea!! Our picnics were never so much fun!

Lil P : My went to picnic.. icecream shopping ..with D teacher... In yellow bus.
Me: Where did u go??
Lil P : my went to hair cut..
Me: what??
Lil p: Hair cut icecream shop 
.. then realization dawned. Sunday we had gone to limelite above baskin robbins in kormangala to get her hair cut.
Me: How much icecream did u eat??
Lil p : soooooooooo much.
my like strawberry icecream.. V (her friend) also ate strawberry icecream.D teacher gave one cup n spoon.

Arghhhh moment!

This Saturday, PC had some office work till 4 PM. And after that he decided that he needed to go check out a plot which we had booked last month!! So I get a call that he’ll need 4 hrs totally and will be back latest by 9PM. At 8 pm I get a call that his car has a puncture n he will be ‘slightly’ late. His sense of time is really off .. n after so many years of being with him I have understood that slightly = 1 hr. Somehow due to sheer exhaustion of handling Lil p alone the whole day.. I doze off around 10PM.. n suddenly woke up at 1 AM n HEZ STILL NOT HOME!!! I try calling him n his mobile is not reachable. .. n by 1.30 I’m already freaking out.. I have no idea where the damn plot is.. Or in which direction of bangalore hez driving.. if some1 is with him. If hez ok.. what time he will reach home?? Should I call up his friends one by one .. or shud I call the police!! After a hundred failed calls.. finally it rang! N he picked up the phone and was home – tired but safe at 2AM!!! What a scare!

*6:00 Pm - Reached the plot, which is past Hoskote – 52 kms from where we stay.
*6:45 PM Checked out the progress and left …
*7:15Pm - 10 kms away from any nearest town – noticed that petrol was dangerously low!
*7.30 PM, the car developed a flat tyre… Realised that the spare tyre has a flat too. Middle of nowhere..    
    Decided to drive with a flat till a puncture repair shop could be located.
*7:45 PM – saw a petrol pump. 500Rs in the pocket. Filled 200 rs worth petrol. No puncture shop.
    The attendant adviced to check in the nearest town 5 km ahead.
*8:15Pm Parked car. Called wife. Waited for another car / auto to pass by to ask for lift.
*8:40PM A tempo traveler stops. It’s a goods carrier. Atleast 10 sheep are crammed backstage. I climb in next to the driver. Holding the spare ‘flat’ tyre in my lap.. n precariously balancing. Trying to ignore the bleats behind me.
*9:00PM reach a tyre shop – its closed. Someone asks us to check out 5 streets ahead.
*9:15 PM Found a puncture shop. Its closed. The neighbour gives the person’s mobile number. Its bakrid.. The guy is having a feast at his inlwas place. Asks us to wait.
*10:00 PM he arrives. Proceeds to check the tube.
*10:45PM The leak is rt next to the tube. Cannot be repaired. Decide to try with the other tyre.
*11:00 PM Drive back to the petrol pump.. all the while hoping the car is still there. Thankfully it is. Pick up the flat tyre and notice that the rim is bent. Not usable!
*11.15 PM Decide to go and try the tyre shop once more. Locate the owner. Request him to come by. He obliges and arrives. New tube costs money!! Damn no cash!! Won’t accept card. ATM machine is 10 mins drive away. By this time the poor auto guy is hungry n tired.
*11:30PM got money. Bought a new tube. Proceed to puncture shop.
*11:45PM got the new tube into spare tyre.
*12:00 AM reached the car. Paid the kind auto driver. Drove back home.
*1:15 AM realised mobile is switched off. Searched for car charger. Spoke to wife
*1:45 AM reached home.
* Grinned at wife - What an adventure. Shud do this more often!!

*wife faints*

PS: After this incident I have kept a a stock of all his bank accounts, shares, policies, PF number, backup of his phone list and the local police station number!!!
